The Masquerade is a narrative inspection game set in the industrial - Victorian city of St. Celian. During the annual opera house event known as the Midnight Balance ball, nobles, merchants, and celebrities gather under one roof. Inside the ballroom, a mask does not conceal identity — it creates it. Once worn, it becomes the only status recognized for the night.

You play as the sole Masquerade Mask Attendant at the entrance. Guests arrive without masks, and it is your responsibility to determine who they are before allowing them inside. By observing accessories, insignia, and subtle visual clues, you identify whether they belong to a noble house, a merchant class, or the circle of celebrities.

Each identity category has a corresponding mask style. Choosing the wrong mask means assigning the wrong identity.

A strict rule governs the ball: masks cannot be removed once inside. This makes your desk the point where social order is defined. 

Your decisions shape the balance of the night. Grant the wrong mask, and the power structure inside the ballroom may shift.

Created within 48 hours for Global Game Jam, the current version features a Story Mode with a fixed sequence of characters. A planned Challenge Mode could not be completed within the time limit.

How to Play

• Select and assign the correct mask that matches their identity.

• Giving the wrong mask means assigning the wrong status, which affects your rating.
