Neko no Ne-e is a cozy puzzle game between you and a cat.

🌱 The Story

Long ago, the forest was protected by you, the God of Roots, whose sacred roots spread life and balance throughout the land.

One day, the heavens trembled, the earth split apart, and the sacred roots were torn asunder. The forest fell into silence, and you entered an eternal slumber.

Now, your spirit has awakened beneath the earth — but you cannot move alone. A faithful cat becomes your messenger, following the sacred roots you create to restore the broken network. As each root is reconnected, life returns to the forest, forgotten memories awaken, and the path to the sacred heart is revealed.

Restore every sacred root, and you shall awaken once more to bless the land.

🎮 Gameplay

You draw, and the cat walks.

• Draw a path with your mouse — the cat will follow it step by step.
• Roots grow wherever the cat walks, turning barren soil into fertile land.
• Guide the cat through water — it extinguishes flames, grants extra steps, and revives the surrounding dry soil as an oasis.
• Connect to teleports — the cat steps in and appears at the other end.
• Push dirt blocks into pits — paving the way for the cat to cross, turning dry soil into new life.

🐱 About Name

“Neko” means cat, “Ne” means root (in Japanese), and “e” means drawing/picture. 

Together, it’s “Cat’s Root Drawing”, you draw the roots, the cat follows, and together you revive the withered land.
Also, “ne-e” sounds like a soft, curious meow — as if the cat is tilting its head and saying “Hmm?”
